Est. 2006 lineage

Built on
something real.

Before ReferLi was a platform, it was a person: Leslie Khafif — and eighteen years of Long Island families trusting her to know someone.

Leslie Khafif spent nearly two decades doing something that can't be replicated by an app: listening to what a family actually needed, and knowing — from years of calls, referrals, and follow-ups — exactly who to send. Her clients didn't rate providers with stars. They trusted her with their homes, their kids, their parents.

“What's she going to do with the business?”— the office conversation that started ReferLi

After nearly 20 years? After building something people genuinely trusted? It couldn't just stop. So it didn't. We are the experts that find you expert help. We listen.

The road here

  1. 2006

    A referral business is born

Leslie founded her referral business the way it should be — by word of mouth, built on trust. Friends told friends. Families told neighbors. No ads, no algorithms. Just people who knew people, and a name you could count on.

  2. 2010s

    The name Long Island trusted

From Great Neck to Garden City, from Roslyn to Huntington — families across Nassau and Suffolk County were calling Leslie for the same reason: they trusted her judgment above anyone else's. She listened first, and matched second.

  3. 2020s

    The Facebook post

Leslie posted to Facebook that she was retiring. Her son Andrew saw it at his desk. So did his coworker Dylan. That moment — a casual scroll, a Facebook post, a quiet office — turned into a question that changed everything.

  4. Today

    The torch, carried

Dylan and Andrew — two Long Island guys who know the value of a trusted name — take the torch. The idea is simple: be the resource. The shoulder to lean on. The friend who always knows someone great.

Two founders. One belief.

Dylan Harrington

Co-Founder

The guy who heard the story and couldn't let it go. Dylan saw the gap — and the vision — in five minutes of office conversation.

Andrew Khafif

Co-Founder

Leslie's son. The one who showed Dylan the Facebook post that started it all. The bridge between the legacy and the future.

Different backgrounds. Same belief — that knowing the right person makes all the difference.

What we won't compromise

Human-matched, always

No bots decide your match. Real people who know the community and understand what “a good fit” actually means.

Built on relationships

Every provider in our network came through a referral, a vetting call, or a personal introduction. We know them.

Deeply local

We serve Long Island because we know it. Not a marketplace that serves everyone — a neighbor who serves you.

The standard is exceptional

Leslie never sent someone she wouldn't feel comfortable sending to her own home. That standard hasn't changed — it inspired everything we're building.
